So You Want To Be A Criminal Profiler?
When you teach forensic psychology, the question students ask the most is how do I become a profiler? This question also appears on the frequently asked questions section of the FBI website.Given the popularity of the CBS drama criminal minds, the how do I become a profiler question is going to be asked more than ever. The aim of this article, therefore, is to address whether becoming a criminal profiler is a realistic career aspiration.Criminal Profiling in the USAThe FBI doesn't actually have employees with the job title profiler. However, special agents at the National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime (NCAVC) at Quantico, Virginia do construct profiles of unknown offenders as well as offering case management advice, threat assessments and interviewing strategies to law enforcement agencies both home and abroad. You cannot simply apply to the FBI and immediately become a NCAVC agent. A basic requirement is three years service as a FBI special agent. However, such is the competition for places, successful candidates tend to have up to 10 years of service behind them along with experience investigating violent and sexual crimes and abductions. In terms of educational requirements an advanced degree in a Behavioral or Forensic Science is often listed as preferred qualification. It is possible to work at the NCAVC without being a special agent. these professional support positions include Intelligence Research Specialists, Violent Crime Resource Specialists, and Crime Analysts. These are essentially research positions so an in-depth knowledge of research methodology, data collection and analysis is required.Whether you are applying to become a NCAVC agent or a research specialist you can expect to have complete a range of written and psychometric tests.Criminal Profiling in the UKIf you think getting into profiling work in the USA seems a difficult proposition, the chances of doing it in the UK are even more remote. In 1995 Gary Copson conducted a comprehensive survey of police use of profil

Sports Betting Affiliate Program Secrets: Super Online Gambling Affiliates
The world of a sports betting affiliate is one that is as full of variety and opportunity as that of the industry it serves. Online sports betting has become one of the largest industries on the Internet both in terms of financial turnover and membership. It's notoriety and popularity have meant that year on year the membership numbers swell. It has developed into an online phenomenon, raking in billions each year. But through affiliate programs this wealth can finally be redistributed to Internet users of all sizes and stature. The affiliate program works as a reward system for website owners, who host advertisements from companies, in this case that of sports betting sites. For the affiliate this is a golden opportunity to make their web space into a useful earning plot rather than a stagnant place. The affiliate receives all of the banners, text links and even in some cases e-mail documents ready for mass sending, for absolutely nothing. Therefore there is no implied risk or up front capital that is necessary to begin a venture into the world of affiliate marketing. The simplicity and ease with which new affiliates can obtain this paraphernalia is one of the key reasons why so many have joined this, and other affiliate marketing programs on the Internet. The other reason that so many have decided to host affiliate sports betting banners is the simple monetary factor. Most affiliate programs may offer you a small percentage of a sale or a few dollars up front for passing on a customer, but look smartly in the sports betting field and the rewards are much higher. Imagine for example earning not just a small percentage for a one off bet or a couple of months, but between 20 and 35% of a player's entire lifetime on a site. This introduces the availability of some serious money into the equation, and is also what has drawn many people into becoming serious sports betting affiliates. The more fully signed up betting customers an affiliate can attract, the more they are liable to earn, therefore the onus is well and truly on affiliates to get out there and sell their
It’s Thursday June 15, 2006, and finally we had an up day, the market showed some strength pretty much for the entire trading session, granted it was modest but definitely a welcome sight. The Nasdaq avoided making history by being down for a ninth day in a row and the S&P 500 broke that 7-month slide.

Yesterday morning the Labor Department reported that the May Consumer Price Index aka the CPI rose 0.4 percent, after a 0.6 percent rise in April. This is beyond the comfort level of the inflation fighting Fed. These latest numbers are pretty much an indication that the Fed will raise interest rates on June 29, 2006. So we may have to prepare ourselves for another bump up in August but lets not get too ahead of ourselves just yet.

It looks like Iran’s master plan may be coming to light as Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated that he wants to increase cooperation with a central Asian security group that includes China and Russia and that the region needs a solid wall against any outside interference. This was said at the S'hanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, which consisted of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. China has publicly said that they will not be a member of the group, that is the story today anyway, as we know tomorrow always brings another element into the mix.

Now sticking to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit or the SCO Summit, Russia's president Vladimir Putin made a proposal while he spoke at the SCO, he proposed the creation of an energy club within the SCO and mentioned that Russia could actually finance some economic projects pursued by the six-nation regional forum. And the plot thickens.

Reasons Why You May Not Be Being Successful Online
There could be many reasons that your online business is falling short of the mark. You may indeed be one of the lucky ones where you are making all the money that you need. Maybe you have a program that for one reason or another is being very successful. I say good for you! I love success and I love successful people. People that are being successful on their chosen online programs have a vision or a destiny if you will. They seem to be able to reach people in a positive way. They never sell, coerce or convince someone to join their program. They simply use the tools necessary for online success and they use all of them to their advantage.I am not talking about those people. They have it made. How about the online marketers that are not being successful? These are the majority. These people are good and honest hard working individuals who also have a program that they believe in, but for some odd reason, no one is interested in joining their program. These people are the 95% of people on the internet today that are involved in some mlm program that do not have a clue as to how to run a successful online business. These people are the focus of this article. One of the main reasons that I have seen no success for people internet wise is the fact that they become mlm junkies. The roll from program to program spending their hard eared money for the next big thing that will bring them ultimate success. They are not at all concerned that the online program they have may be very good, and if approached correctly could make them a lot of money. No, they are always jumping from one thing to another. This is called no focus. I think that the term multiple streams of income is very misleading to people net bound. You hear the term incessantly about multiple streams of income is the only way to be successful online. Well, that theory may indeed by valid if you have a program that is being successful for you now. But if you have many programs and none of them is producing, its time to reevaluate your positions. Its time for you to go back to internet marketing 101 and find o

Marketing Article Technique: It's A Numbers Game
One of the most common mistakes web site and blog site owners make in their article marketing technique is to ignore the fact that like any other form of marketing, it is a numbers game.I made the same mistake myself. When I first started using a marketing technique that involved articles, I didn’t think of the numbers involved. There is no doubt that a lot of people out there who may have posted one or two articles and forgotten all about it may be making exactly the same mistake I made. I wrote one article and sat back waiting for a response. I still got it (after about 3 weeks) but today I'm a lot wiser with my articles marketing technique. You must have heard all those statistics about what kind of traffic a web site needs to be successful. Take a figure like 2,500 hits PER DAY. Now how does a site get that kind of traffic without spending a fortune on advertising? It is simple with this article marketing technique. Here is the math.Supposing your article is viewed just twice every day at a certain articles directory web site. If you post the same article to only 20 similar sites, you’ll have 40 hits per day. In this article marketing technique, you therefore need only 20 articles to get 800 hits per day. Of course the most important aspect of this article marketing technique is finding the highest traffic articles directories or web sites to post your articles to. Be careful because a vast majority of them are a waste of time.

Creating (And Profiting From!) Your Online Community
In today’s business world, most of us understand the importance of creating an engaging website. We understand the importance of location for our brick-and-mortar businesses. We realize that our businesses are only as effective as our employees. And we work hard to value our customers. What most of us don’t understand is that our customers do more than simply consume our products or utilize our services. With today’s systems of interconnected communications through cellular phones and computers linked through the internet, our customers actually make up a community. Our customers are out there, talking about our products, sharing their experiences with our services. Today, more than ever, they have the power to make our companies great or to burn them down to the ground.Executives who overlook the importance of these online communities are, at best, not taking advantage of an amazing marketing tool, and at worst are setting themselves up for disaster. We have all had experiences with different businesses, both good and bad. How did you react to a negative business experience? If you are like much of the consuming public, you told some of your friends about that business, warning them away from it. When you had a markedly positive experience, you probably felt like you wanted to share the good word about that business. More and more people are turning to the internet to spread the word- and they’re probably spreading the word about you- in forums, in chat rooms, on their blogs and personal web pages. What are you doing to make sure that what they are saying about your business is positive? You must cultivate your online community. This, thankfully, is a simple process. First, create an online form on your website so that people can contact your company with questions they have. These forms are easily available through a variety of on-line services like bravenet.com or mailchimp.com. Second, when people contact you through your website, reply immediately. This can be done with an auto-responder or simply by having one person at your business

    The Virtual Assistant
As a small business owner, outsourcing work to Virtual Assistants is fast becoming a popular and intelligent decision. The business owner saves enormous amounts of money by cutting the costs of offices and equipment overhead as well as expensive benefits packages. The ‘Virtual Office’ creates an enormous amount of personal freedom and independence for both the small business owner and the virtual workers. The dedication and commitment that virtual workers demonstrate testifies to the satisfaction derived from a home office setting.Being on the cutting edge of this profession offers tremendous opportunity for technical savvy entrepreneurs to secure a viable and stable home business opportunity. A good business plan and well thought out marketing campaigns are crucial to the organized success of a Virtual Assistant in both securing enough clients and/or work to meet their budget goal as well as adequately being able to balance clients and deadlines.Virtual Assistant’s actually would be well advised to embrace a business partner or utilize a team of trusted colleagues to entrust overflow work to. The standards of a good Virtual Assistant aren’t easily met and establishing a virtual network of quality workers isn’t an easy task. Any overflow work that you outsource must exemplify the same care and quality as your own or you stand the chance of alienating your clients. As the owner of a home business resource specifically geared toward professional mothers seeking home based work, I am often approached for advice on how to become a Virtual Assistant and also receive many inquiries about what skills are required to be successful in the field. To gain and retain clients, my main advice is to maintain your professionalism in all of your interactions with your client. As much as it is a leap for you to give up the ‘security’ of working in a corporate office, it is also a very new concept for business owners to outsource their work to a team of ‘Virtual Workers’ who they may likely never even see face-to-face. There is a great level of trust emplo

The Bank of Japan’s Governor Toshihiko Fukui issued a public apology to the Japanese parliament on Thursday as it related to an investment that he made in a fund run by an ex-bureaucrat arrested for suspected insider trading, he said he would not keep any profit. He invested approximately $87,000 back in 1999 and held it since then, so this was not a recent investment and was prior to the arrest of the high profile fund manager Yoshiaki Murakami.

Boeing (NYSE: BA) should be the recipient or better yet the beneficiary of the recent slide of Airbus. The credibility of EADS, who is the majority owner of Airbus, was questioned after the company reported substantial delays of their A380 super jumbo planes. This just sliced over 30% of the company’s stock value off the top. Now keep in mind that these delays may be contract breakers and Boeing could begin to receive a slew of orders for their latest plane that was created to compete with Airbus. The street liked what they heard and that pushed Boeing up $5.03 as it closed at $82.01 on Wednesday.

Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) is not taking any prisoners on this one, they have raised their offer for largest port operator, Associated British Ports Plc, by 3.7% or US$4.76 billion (2.58 billion pounds). This is in an effort to trump a potential offer from Macquarie Bank Ltd. The acquisition of this company puts Goldman Sachs in an interesting position as they could now be granted U.S. port deals with ease. A recommendation from the new Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson doesn’t hurt their cause either.
