Recently, I was asked by someone to write an article for an expert witness newsletter and told that I should pick a topic since the expert witness newsletter was for that industry and of course it spans all industries that have experts. Well I have a couple of ideas for something like this, but first I had to warn them that coming from an athletic, entrepreneurial, political, business and community involvement background, I have a disdain for lawyers. And a disdain for lawsuits as a way to settle business disputes.

You can imagine that as an entrepreneur, I believe that most business deals are entered into on good faith and thus if things go South they should be worked out with the same spirit and integrity as going in. Personally, since I feel this way, I would not ever wish to be an expert witness or if I were I would pick the side of the person who was being worked over by the non-ethical lawyers of the other side. Now with that said and off my chest, here are some thoughts on what type of articles a writer might write for such a newsletter;

        The free-lance writer should put a by-line at the bottom of the article to such as this one;

        Next, a free-lance writer should not write on any subject giving legal advice, unless they are a lawyer or any subject like Insurance or Real Estate which requires a license unless they have one of those licenses. Besides it would be just as well for the writer to not hurt the credibility of the newsletter, writing about something they know nothing about.
