Experience This is probably the easiest character trait to explain. Stars have it, role players want it, and bench-warmers will hardly ever get it. Some of the reason for this is already predestined based on the previous level of our predecessor (family) or as I like to call them, coaches. The reality of the situation is that our coaches are the ones who introduce us to the game. If our coaches lack the motivation or knowledge of how to approach the game then that will have a direct impact on its players. The only hope to cirrcum vent this situation is to have both of the next two character traits fall in place and capitalize on it when it happens. Timing I can’t emphasis this character trait enough. Timing is everything. We all know this. Think about any sport you want and I know you will come up with the same conclusion and correlation between sports and life. Stars know when to turn it on and that is what makes them stars in our eyes. Michael Jordan knew that the Fourth Quarter was his TIME. Michael Johnson and Carl Lewis knew when they hit that last straight away on the track it was TIME to turn it on. In Baseball, if the count is full with 3 balls and 2 strikes, bases loaded, it’s the bottom of the 9th, and the score is separated by 1 run, both the pitcher and hitter know exactly what TIME it is. Role players are extremely aware of timing as well because they have a keen sense to know that this may catapult them in to the role of stardom that they have been striving for. For bench-warmers this is extremely important because this could be the start of changing your destiny. The ability for the bench-warmer to master this character trait along with the last character trait will heavily play into whether or not they will ever move up the roster of life.
