I googled it and found over a million listings that developed in the last two weeks about the incident. I also found out that India also is testing nuclear warheads and got me to thinking, hmm.

Clearly with most of US armed forces stationed at the Gulf Coast, US cannot possibly destroy the nuclear arsenal in North Korea, although it has the capability to do so. Any attacks on North Korea would start off a war with China or USSR and that would be too costly. Therefore the diplomatic efforts to get other nations to create an economic sanctions against North Korea in an effort to tone down the possiblity of a nuclear war.

What is interesting about this is that the North Koreans have been counterfeiting US currency and using them in Europe and other places around the world. The North Korean diplomats have immunity against prosecution and therefore the US cannot do much about it publicly in the face of a nuclear crisis.

I guess the war on terrorism has not ended and we see no possibilities of US backing out of an unpopular war. In the rest of the world suicide bombers and terrorist tactics are not considered an important problem as compared to hunger and famine and lack of technolgy,etc.

What would you do if you were in President Bush's shoes? I wonder sometimes. Long time ago I vowed not to get involved in discussion about politics or religion but decided that I will make an exception just this one time. I always believed that economic growth and international trade is a more favorable option to war.
