We are funny about writing. We think everyone can write -- after all, we learned how in first grade! It takes time to perform it well. It takes effort and dedication and persistence. It helps to have talent, or skill. It really, really helps if you love to write. Not everyone has this knowledge, skill, talent, or time. Not everyone loves to write.Maybe your skills and talents lie elsewhere. Maybe you don’t have the time to devote to a project as big as writing a book. Maybe you would rather clean the toilet than put pen to paper or fingers on a keyboard. But does that mean that your great ideas, your new methods, your inspirational stories, are not worthy of a book?

I have been concerned about government/political apathy for some time. Especially, when it comes to local government. A unique idea has come out of Nevada.Daniel Rosen has announced his intent to run for U.S. Congress. If elected, he promises to vote as instructed by his constituents on his web site. He claims that “Registered voters in the 2nd District of Nevada will have total control over how I vote. I'm not running an opinion poll. It's a binding process.”I see problems of only having “registered voters in the 2nd District of Nevada” vote on-line.1) What kind of procedures will be needed to insure that only “registered voters in the 2nd District of Nevada” cast their votes on-line?2) Will every registered voter will be given a password?3) What about those “registered voters” who do not have access to, or the knowledge of how to operate a computer? When the Internet first started to really get major synergy going many religious folks claimed it was the coming of the Beast. Needless to say they were not the early adopters. Today nearly every religious organization has a website and many even pay for key words. Paying up to $2.00 for Google “Key Words” for things words like; God, Church, Sunday Worship, etc.It appears that those who condemned the Internet early on, as a sign of the beast and the eventual demise of the Earth thru their belief in revelation in the literal sense have made a complete 180. Today one of the largest sectors on the Internet is that of religious websites. Why are we always getting in the way of our species’ forward progress? Religious groups should have embraced the Internet for its communication value. Instead they fought it like the plague. Each time a new technology or concept comes of age, we find our civilization is caught in a time warp. Even the Catholic Church said it would rather keep things the same, even if it meant the Church became smaller or had to consolidate.We currently are being divided over right to life abortion issues, stem cells and Major Religions and in all this sound and fury is there really any room for the Next Thing? And when the Next Big Thing happens will we embrace it or will we use it as

It was a war in which more than 30,000 troops were eventually deployed, supported by artillery and preceded by a massive air campaign targeting civilian infrastructure, to fight what Israel had estimated to be at most 5,000 Hizbolla militants concentrated in south Lebanon. In spite of the overwhelming numerical and technological superiority of the Israelis, they were unable to overrun the Hizbolla positions and failed in their attempt to create a buffer zone south of the Litani river. In many cases, fighting was still being reported within a few kilometers of the Israeli border. This is in stark contrast to the invasion of 1982 when it took just 7 days for Israeli troops to make it to the outskirts of Beirut.
