How many of us are guilty of judging someone in a negative way based on their size, colour of their skin, their ethnicity, or how they’re dressed. I’m guilty as charged, but I’ve made the decision to move away from walking in that negative light.

Sometimes having single vision isn’t good – sometimes our lenses are distorted and needs to be changed. Fresh eyes give us the ability to see people not for what they look like, but who they are beyond the suit and tie, beyond the t-shirt and jeans. It is like taking a walk down the same street day after day, and see something different every time.

You are probably familiar with the saying “I know this place or this person like the back of my hand” Really? How well do you know the back of your hand? How many pores, lines, scars, moles…no we don’t, but saying it tells the other person that what we’re saying about another is valid, or we’re capable of getting them to their destination. So, how about it? Take some time and do this exercise – look at your spouse, child, job, friends, or current situation with “fresh eyes”. Go ahead, try this exercise and look at something, some one, heck...yourself with "fresh eyes", you just might learn something new.
