Boston Real Estate - You Still Have Considerable Control Over the Sale of Your Boston Home
Boston real estate is a hot topic. Daily newspaper articles comment on whether or not a bubble exists in the Boston real estate market, when and if it will pop, how interest rates affect the market, why Boston residents are snapping up interest-only loans, and how foreign investors in our treasuries keep interest rates low. There are articles about the location and amenities of Boston homes, why those factors make our region so desirable, and why the completion of the big dig is going to make Boston real estate even more desirable.Journalists remark on the gentrification of our neighborhoods and the development of the Boston Seapor

    Houston Commercial Real Estate
The real estate business is classified into two distinct categories, namely, residential and commercial real estate. Certain residential properties may not be the primary living quarters of owners and can be used to generate a source of regular income through rentals. Such property is referred to as investment property, but is primarily a residential complex. Houston commercial real estate revolves around the sale, purchase, lease, and rentals of property used for trade and business. This includes a wide range of business properties, such as shopping centers, gas stations, hotels, and office buildings. The Houston commercial real esta
Each month after completing and fine tuning Letters on Life I’m excited about sending it out. Within a few hours I start to wonder about the next letter and whether people will like it. Is it going to be good enough? Because of this concern I procrastinate and wait until the last minute to start writing the next letter. Underlying this version of the fear of rejection or the fear of failure is the question “am I good enough?” We all have that fear in some form or the other usually stemming from an incident in our youth. Let me share with you when it started for me.

I was away from home for the first time at UC Berkeley. There is always someone you meet that you look up to who seems to have all the answers. Mike Breen was that guy for me. I had just turned 17 and at 19 Mike seemed to possess that wisdom and experience about girls that was missing in my life.

I remember the defining conversation like it was yesterday.. ”Mike what do you do if you meet a girl and you really like her and maybe even love her?”….And Mike coolly replied with that air of maturity and experience, “you tell her how you feel”. I confusingly asked “What if she says she doesn’t love you back?” That was one of my biggest fears and a few years later at the end of my junior year I felt that pain of rejection when

    Five Rapport Selling Tips
Dale Carnegie wrote “When dealing with people remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudice and motivated by pride and vanity”Selling in financial services has gone through enormous changes. In 1986 I vividly recall going for a job interview with an American life assurance company based in the UK. I still remember the language being used by the sales directors. “Punters”, “Close 50% of sales”, “Prospects”, “Don’t leave without a signature”Nowadays, thankfully, his language and those sharp practises have all but disappeared. But here’s the crux of the mat

    Packaging Yourself
I have been fired/let go three times in the past. None of these transitions were easy at the time, but they all aided in my personal development. Now I'm famous and those who fired me are not. I grew, they did not. How did I go from anonymous to world-renowned leader, entrepreneur and packaging expert extraordinaire? Let me show you my method for packaging myself.Promote yourself. The old adage your mother told you about working hard and be good at what you do is a nice idea. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work when no one knows what it is you do. We had a program a couple of years ago and one thing stood out in my mind. That people

Employee Engagement - Competence Trust and Confidence Trust - Why Leaders Need Both
Pick up any business publication today and it is likely you will see at least one article on the subject of employee engagement. Employee engagement is the degree to which employees work with passion and feel a profound connection to their company. Gallup International recently reported that businesses in the top 24% of employee engagement had less turnover and a higher percentage of customer loyalty, profitability and revenue. The research into employee engagement goes on to say that trust in the workplace is the foundation of employee engagement. If that is true, it would be useful if we could get a better idea of what really con

I confusingly asked “What if she says she doesn’t love you back?” That was one of my biggest fears and a few years later at the end of my junior year I felt that pain of rejection when my girl friend Bobbi told me she loved someone else. I made the decision that I would never feel that pain again so I avoided anyone who could hurt me like Bobbi did. By looking back and examining some of my old patterns I understand what I did to avoid the possibility of experiencing this pain again.

One thing I did was to select partners who I knew did not fit my picture of the person I wanted to be with. By finding enough faults with them I could keep them at a distance and eventually move on to avoid getting hurt. Another approach was to select a partner who was emotionally unavailable. They were hopelessly self centered, in other relationships or real afraid of intimacy because of the same wounds that I had experienced. If I was really honest with myself it was obvious from the very beginning.

Even though I felt that I wanted a life long partner, this pattern of avoidance lasted for many years. During this phase of my life I had engaged many teachers and mentors and participated in many personal growth workshops and alwa
