He was in the terminally ill ward as he had cancer and was, at times, delirious.
His daughter would sit with him holding his hand listening to him talking in his “sleep”.
One day she went to the Nurse in charge of the ward and told her that her father would often talk in his sleep about the birds and the light.
The Nurse, who had obviously heard the same story often said, “You know your father is dying. Well he hasn’t got long now, and the birds he can see are the Angels, and The Light is Heaven”.
For that nurse, whose whole life was spent with the dying, Life after Death was a reality.
On an even more personal note, my best friend Ron was murdered. Gunned down by a psycho.
For days I felt so cold in the house.
A week later I was feeling weird, to put it mildly. I had this overwhelming feeling that Ron was there.
I tearfully said to Denise, “I can feel him, taste him, smell him, oh God Den, he’s here!”.
“I know”, she said, “I can see him”.
Luckily I was into Spiritualism in a big way, and had even introduced Ron and his wife Maureen to the Spiritualist Church some time earlier.
I phoned Bob who was my Spiritual teacher at that time and asked for his advice.
Bob told me that when a death is so sudden the person isn’t prepared for life on the Other Side. And so they “latch onto” someone they love for help.
What Denise and I should do was to give out feelings to Ron of love and warmth, but at the same time gently push him away. Holding onto him would do him no good.
We should tell Ron to look for the Light and his friends who were waiting to welcome him.
This we did, and Ron slowly left us…through the chimney would you believe!

When I told her what we had seen, Maureen said, “I’ve gone cold Mike, when Ron was shot…he was wearing a sports shirt…with broad green stripes”.
