I'm not much for trying to keep up with the daily news. So much of it is designed to keep us in fear and is delivered with half truths and half lies. Which half are we to believe? But there is one source that gives it to us point blank. I'm speaking about the Bible. I realize there are many who don't put any weight in it because they don't believe it. But I don't see that as any excuse as to what is actually happening in our world today. If anyone actually reads God's Word and lines it up with what's going on in the news today, they would have to admit, it's pretty precise as far as the signs go. Everyone can read signs and expect something to happen. If we see a sign that tells us to slow down because there's a bus stop ahead, we are prepared to do just that because children will be in the road. If we see a sign that warns us of something being flamable, we are prepared to keep matches from being lit. Signs are all over and we recognize them as a warning for things to come. They are meant to prepare us so we won't be caught off guard. But what about God's signs? We tend to ignore those and just keep going our merry way. Shouldn't we get our heads out of the sand?

It seems lately that the Holy Spirit lays it on my heart to challenge people who read these articles to get prepared for the ultimate outcome, their eternal destiny. We all must make a choice but in order to do that, we must be made aware of the seriousness of it. This is one choice that only we can make for ourselves. It's not one that any of us should be teetering back and forth upon. If you choose not to make a choice, then it will result in the wrong choice. It's pretty cut and dry.

In Jeremiah chapter 30 God spoke some mighty promises about Israel, her enemies and His promise of how it will end. Should we be afraid of Ahmadinejad's plan of nuclear destruction? Not if we know what our destination is through Christ. In this chapter, God instructs Jeremiah to write all His words down in a book, the Bible. He wants everyone to know what is coming in the days ahead. His plan is to restore Israel to peace when Christ comes as the Priest to rule and reign for His Millenium period.

"For thus says the Lord, I have heard a sound of terror, Of dread, and there is no peace." Jeremiah 30:5

God's people have been scattered all over the place and their lives are being threatened for returning to their home land. But God already knew and He hears them still. He promised that they would endure as a people until Christ returns. No nuclear weapons will wipe them off the face of the earth, and Islam will certainly not be the world's religion.

"'For I am with you', declares the Lord, to save you; For I will destroy completely all the nations where I have scattered you, Only I will not destroy you completely. But I will chasten you justly and will by no means leave you unpunished." Jeremiah 30:11

But God's promises have yet to be fulfilled in history. There is a happy ending for His people. In the meantime His correction has come upon them, and those of us as well who act like God isn't listening, or seeing what we as a human race are doing to either ignore His warnings or just don't care. Know this, God does know what role each of us is acting as this whole scene plays out. More importantly, do you know what part you're playing?

"Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; And all your adversaries, every one of them will go into captivity; And those who plunder, and all who prey upon you I will give for prey. For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds, declares the Lord, Because they have called you an outcast, saying; 'It is Zion, no one cares for her.'" Jeremiah 30:17

It's in God's plan that all His Jewish children will recognize Christ as the Messiah when He returns after the 7 year tribulation period. Every knee at this time shall bow and confess His Holy name. This millennial kingdom is what God refers to as the "latter days". It will be at this time, Christ will spring up from Israel and will be the only One Who can approach God as a Priest.
