    Marketing Your Service Business
Marketing any business is a science professional marketers follow to get results. There are three principles that are most important to the small business owner and should be adopted and used in your small business marketing:1. Benefits - Most people make the mistake of telling everyone the features of their business. This is not what your customers are looking for. They want to know why they should give you the job and not your competition.2. Business Purpose - Are you sure you understand what your business purpose is? Most people start

A Mastermind Group is a group of people who meet together to help each other with a boost of brain power. It’s got the good elements of a committee, without any of the red tape, conflict, or hurdles. You all put your minds together for brainstorming on each other’s goals and challenges. It’s a cooperative effort, everyone there to help, to give, and to grow. The people in your mastermind group may come up with ideas to help you succeed in your plans.

Here are some tips to help you get the most from your masterminding experience:

    • Choose a good group. It should go without saying that the most helpful people will be determined to achieve the same essential goals that you hold dear. Someone who embraces a philosophy that’s really different from yours isn’t a good match. You’re growing in your awareness of the abundant nature of the universe, of the power of the mind, of the unlimited opportunity that stands before you – they’re still shackled to a scarcity mindset, pessimistic about life, and disinterested in personal growth. Not a good match. You want people you respect, who treat others well, who live in integrity. You also want people who will commit themselves to the group. It won’t work if people are sporadic in their attendance. It requires some level of commitment, and the members need to know that in advance and agree together to hold the group as a high priority. Start forming a list, then start talking to these people to gauge their interest.

Franchise Buyers Just Do Not Get It
Recently a franchise buyer who works in a government agency contacted our franchise company for opportunities. In doing so he told us that civil servants were hard working and honest and that politicians were bad. He told us how he had put together a team of folks who could run a franchised outlet because they had experience in government running things.I laughed because government doesn’t run anything very well. Well they are good at running some things such as running people around in circles at the Department of Motor Vehicles or running small companies ou

The Maturity Level of an Infrastructure
Although not at the center of action, Infrastructure can make a difference. For instance when it is not there when you need it. The importance of infrastructure accompanies the growth of any (especially online) business. The more action, the more you need infrastructural support.A step in the design of this fundament for your business involves the capacity plan in which the capacity is calculated and the growth of traffic. The capacity of a building or even a physical bridge could easily be calculated but the capacity if a ever growing internet infrastructure

    Marketing Manual Sample Outline
The key to success in any business relies a large part in your ability to market your product or service. Often MBA students spend years studying marketing as it encompasses and relates to nearly all business operations. If you own a small business you know the value of marketing, even if you do not have an MBA or a specialized MBA in Marketing. One thing I found helpful in our company was to thoroughly outline what steps we would take to market our products and services. Our company is a franchise company, which specializes in mobile car washing. Although our

    Hiring and Keeping Good Employees
Employers today are caught between the proverbial "rock and a hard place". They need more qualified personnel to do some of the most basic of tasks but the labor pool is tight and qualified personnel are limited. Many employers have resorted to hiring bodies in hopes of retaining a few good ones ("Like an archer that wounds at random is he who hires a fool or a passer-by". Proverbs 26:10). And some employers have even decided to delay the growth of the business until the employment market changes.Answers to the problem of hiring and keeping good employees a

    • Set and hold your first meeting. While some in the group may be familiar with the mastermind concept, others will not be. Explain what you see as the group’s goal, how you envision the group functioning, the commitment the group will require.

    • BNI (Business Networking International) is famous for its saying, “Givers gain.” Your mastermind group works the same way. It’s not for everyone; and it’s not for people who are out there only for themselves. You will spend lots of valuable time and energy helping the other members of the group, and you’ll also be the beneficiary of the other members’ creative thinking. It simply won’t work with people who keep tabs, who want an immediate return on the time they’ve invested. This group will function more like a team than a swap meet, and each member needs to be able to consider the others to be teammates.

    • Set some sort of attendance policy. Obviously, things come up – vacations, sick kids, business trips – but without an attendance policy in place, the smallest things will prevent members from attending. Agree on how many meetings members may miss. If someone’s unable to keep their attendance commitment, then the group is just not a fit for them at this time.

    • Organize some form of structure for the meetings. Without structure, the meetings have a tendency to be hijacked by more talkative members. Every
