The McDonaldization Of Business that on a full time basis, yet this does work perfectly in an outsourced model, where you have a full service web design company that can build your online web site pages, conversion mechanisms, landing pages, microsites, etc. and deploy those for your company. So, these are just some of the many examples of areas where companies need to consider outsourcing in order get all their work done.In business, everyone has a role… or at least they ought to.A few years ago, I was working as a sub-contractor with a Virtual Bookkeeping company and I was searching for some deeper understanding of our respective roles. I discovered a great little book by Michael Gerber – The E-Myth.The E-Myth is an easy read and yet the information that Gerber shares is pivotal to anyone who runs a business. In the book Gerber explains why so many small businesses fail to grow, and where they stumble when they try to grow. Gerber explains that for your business to grow you need to have three essential roles filled – that of a technician, a manager, and an entrepreneur. Most small business owners attempt to fill each of those roles themselves. The trouble is, many small business owners are not capable of being all three – in fact, few people are.The challenge then is recognizing which of the three you are and bringing in people to your team who can fill the other roles.< At the management level, many compa CEOs of Life The Age of Outsourcing and Sales and Marketing. Today, now more than ever, companies need to go outside to find partners, consultants, inter-management solutions, and service providers who can help them to cover the range of their needs of sales and marketing. As new rules have been invented regarding lead generation, the internet, and more complexity has come into the sales and business development and marketing model of most companies, it's very difficult for you to keep up with all of the skill sets that are required in order to be on the top of your company's game and maintain best practices across all of those functional areas. So, companies are looking increasingly to bring in outsourced service providers who can provide them with fractional management or contract personnel or ongoing outsourcing and consulting to cover the needs that they're not capable of keeping in house or cannot justify to have on a full time basis. The January issue of Entrepreneur Magazine had a great article on brain science in business. The article quoted Daniel Amen M.D., a much-loved author and ADD expert, who said that:“There's a very high incidence of ADD among CEOs in small companies...These are people who take risks, need people to help them stay organized, don't like working for other people, have a lot of energy and are good at multitasking.”-"Gray Matters" by Mark Henricks Entrepreneur Magazine January 2006The reason for this, I think, is that CEOs (and small business owners) are entrepreneurs who are not only encouraged, but required, to use their skills of creativity and strategic thinking. It's essential to run a successful business, and ADDers are hard-wired with these qualities. In fact, we aren't just good at creating grand visions and finding creative solutions to problems, we thrive on it.And this doesn't just apply to business, it applies to every day life.AD Outsourcing covers a range of different types of functional areas, including search engine optimization, pay per click management, and product management / product marketing. Many companies go through launch phases of new products or product requirements or definition in new product planning cycles that require having those resources around. If you run a business, which sends out advertising thru mailers such as Money Mailer or Coupon Savers and you offer some sort of discount you will notice many people coming in with these coupon offers. And this lasts for a week or two and you think wow, that worked good I’ll do it again. Only one problem next mailing is one-month or for the zip codes you want 7-weeks from now. There is a solution to this dilemma, when the customers come in offer a slightly lesser coupon and put it in their bag and therefore they take home with them the next coupon good in one-two weeks. Meaning the bigger coupon they will get on the next mailing. Direct Mailing Cycles affect many types of businesses such as hair salons, cruise holidays, carwashes and sandwich shops. Luckily there is more than one company mailing these things out and therefore more chances to get your coupons or ads in front of your potential future clientele, if in fact you have found direct mail to work well for you. anies, it's very difficult for you to keep up with all of the skill sets that are required in order to be on the top of your company's game and maintain best practices across all of those functional areas. Some companies that are trying to get to the next level would love to have that top executive on the marketing side but it's just simply too expensive and they can't afford it. So what do they do? Often times, they do nothing, and as a result, are not capable of moving their business forward in their target markets and really executing a proactive marketing strategy. This is a perfect example of where fractional management or outsourcing of a management function or interim management of that function can make a lot of sense and can be done without bearing the full cost of a full time employee. Smart companies are using fractional VPs of marketing who are top marketing professionals to come in and help them plan and execute their marketing programs even if they're not on a full time basis. This provides a wonderful solution: a company can get a part of a senior marketing manager without paying full time for it. So if you're company is thinking about how to get its sales and marketing to the next level, you might want to consider what your outsourcing and fractional interim management strategy is and how you can put new resources to work for your company on an interim or part time basis, or on a project basis that will help you to round out the skills sets of your company and accelerate your sales. Of course, there are some positions in your company that you simply cannot afford to outsource and you need a permanent hiring or recruiting solution for those positions. A good example of that is your VP of sales.
