As the practice of public relations in China continues to mature, it seems appropriate to ask whether Chinese business managers – tutored as they have been by European, North American and other PR specialists – continue to apply major public relations emphasis to print and broadcast communications tactics. In other words, do they still see PR through the lens of simple publicity, as many in the West still do?

Or, do the best among Chinese managers -- as is also true for many businesses in Western economies -- realize they need true behavior change among their most important outside audiences leading directly to achieving their managerial objectives?

And, do they then take steps to persuade those key external stakeholders, who have the greatest impacts on their organizations, to their way of thinking, then move them to take actions that help their departments, divisions or subsidiaries succeed?

Let us presume that you are that business manager in China, and that you are well aware of the high-impact fundamental premise of public relations. Why Is The Toilet Poster Not A Standard Advertising Medium Yet?
Recently I posted a question on yahoo answers to better understand what peoples attitudes are towards toilet advertising. The overall response was overwhelmingly positive, with one person boldly stating that it is the only advertising that still has an impact on him.A study conducted at Rice university has shown that the retention of the marketing message is 40% more effective than retention for any other media.Barbour and Monroe’s survey data concluded that:• 84% recalled seeing specific advertisements in the restrooms.• 92% were able to name specific advertisers without prompting.• 88% recalled at least FOUR selling points in the ads surveyed.• 98% reacted positively or neutral to seeing ads in restroom facilities, as is now backed by my yahoo answers

The Purpose of a Leader in the Business World
If there were no leaders, everyone in a business would take their own path, resulting in a hit or miss opportunity for success. A manager or executive has the power to influence others to complete tasks necessary to the businesses growth. The problem with most companies is that they promote a man or woman to a position of leadership without giving them the tools necessary to earn the respect of their subordinates.A leader can’t just bark orders and realize success. Even if everyone on staff does what they’re told, if they do it begrudgingly, you will have missed out on even greater success that could have been achieved if the employees had been inspired.Leaders set examples for others. They take responsibility for their decisions – and don’t place blame on others. Through the

Successful Job Search: Don't Eliminate Yourself Prematurely
When we're looking for work, we read job announcements, newspaper classifieds, and online descriptions carefully, concentrating on every word. Too often, we see that a particular skill or certain experience is sought. With a sinking feeling, we realize that we don't have exactly what the employer is looking for and, regretfully, move on. But wait a minute! Job announcements are written to include everything the employer would like to have, not necessarily what is absolutely required. If you have at least a few of the skills listed, apply anyway and let the potential employer, not your own lack of self-confidence, screen you out.Unless there are absolute requirements such as licensure or certification, the requirements may be more in the nature of a wish-list and employers know that
well aware of the high-impact fundamental premise of public relations. Namely, “People act on their own perception of the facts before them, which leads to predictable behaviors about which something can be done. When that opinion is created, changed or reinforced by reaching, persuading and moving-to-desired-action the very people whose behaviors affect the organization the most, the public relations mission is accomplished.”

Managers who employ such a PR blueprint often see results such as prospects for their services or products starting to do business with them, fresh proposals for strategic alliances and joint ventures arriving on a regular basis, specifying sources starting to look their way, increases in visits to show rooms, and existing customers beginning to make repeat purchases.

If this approach to public relations appeals to you, before that PR blueprint is first employed, you need every member of the PR team assigned to your unit to agree that it’s crucially important to know how your outside audiences perceive your operations, products or services. Dig deep to ensure they REALLY accept the reality that perceptions almost always lead to behaviors that can damage your operation.

    With that understanding
