Reducing the clutter in any space is a challenge for many of us. A room can have the look of being cluttered even when the actual number of objects in the space is minimal. In this article I am going to help you solve many of the problematic obstacles in the visual landscape of your home.

Obstacle one, Getting rid of some of your stuff! This is the first step to freedom from clutter, but usually always the most difficult. Sentimentality is a huge factor in the clutter dilemma. We all have those things that we just can't part with. Whether it be the engraved stein from your best friends wedding, or the porcelain knick knack that was given to you by your favorite deceased grandmother, it can be tough to part with these things.

Once your space is cleared, choose one or two objects from your box to display. After a few weeks, put those items back into the box and choose some different ones to showcase. You can even use the box as a functional element in your room. Put it in a corner, or at the side of a chair with a table cloth over it. It can serve as a side table!

LLC (Limited Liability Company) What is It?

Could You (Not) Repeat That Please?
I recently read a book where everything was akimbo. Arms were akimbo, legs were akimbo. Remedy for number two..... Group stuff together. When you have evenly spaced and placed objects sitting on a shelf, they all try to draw attention to themselves. As objects they each possess something unique, but as a setting, or quiet element in your decor, they will fail miserably. Try taking the six or seven objects on the shelf, and group them. Put a cluster of three objects together to make one statement instead of three. The positioning of things is a key element to a visually uncluttered space.

And last, I want to talk about a third obstacle. your space is uncluttered, things are put away and repositioned, but the room does not flow like it should. When I think of the word clutter, and what it's opposite might be, The words order and quiet come to my mind.

Choose an overall theme to make your space truly in order. If you can come up with a common color for the room, and arrange the furniture so one can flow easily through the room, your living area will finally be free of that dreaded cluttered feeling.

A home that has a gentle ambiance, clean lines, and a common theme, will be easier to come back to after your long day filled with the clutter of the outside world.
