    Close the Performance Gap
One of the most difficult and emotionally draining situations you face as business owners or executives is employees not meeting your expectations. How can you handle it if they are not keeping up their end of the employee contract?Begin by taking a look at your team. Do you have the right people? Before you hire someone, think about the culture of your company, the team that you already have in place and your particular style of management. If you have a very structured environment, then you’ll want to hire people who can fit in to your more disciplined atmosphere. If you have a very entrepreneurial company then you’ll want people who are more independent. If you have talented people that fit your company culture, there’ll be less of a gap between your expectations and their per

To counteract this, there are three good reasons why you should say something. Firstly, your team are waiting for you to do so. Ok, perhaps they should be tackling issues they have with their colleagues themselves. But they obviously don’t feel confident

20 Great Kid Friendly Marketing Ideas for Your Restaurant – Part 3
It was not very long ago that the only place that thought about kids were the big fast food chains, and even then limited by offering a small toy with the purchase of a hamburger. These days if you don’t create an amazing experience for the twelve and under demographic you will lose their vote!!! So let’s look at a few ideas to get them on side in part 3 of this article:12. Have family nightsThese are a great idea for a slow Monday or Tuesday nights. You could show family TV shows or movies or even cartoons. The phrase ‘there’s something about Mary’ may conjure up all sorts of images for you, depending on whether or not you’ve seen the film of that name. But what if Mary’s one of your team, and the thing about her is her unique and rather unpleasant smell?

Tackling a personal hygiene issue at work is never easy. Most people try to ignore it or hope that it’ll miraculously go away. But unfortunately it hasn’t, and it’s getting harder to ignore.

Several other members of your team have commented on it and are now waiting for you to do something. Their own attempts at dropping hints have proved useless and rather expensive - the gift boxes of toiletries have grown bigger with each Christmas and birthday, and yet the smell still lingers.

To be fair, you did try and tackle the subject indirectly during a team meeting. Unfortunately, your request that everyone makes sure they’re always clean and smart for work only succeeded in upsetting the rest of the team, while Mary seemed to remain blissfully unaware that she was the intended target of your comment.

    Should you say anything?

Although everyone’s on your case and waiting for you to talk to her, you’re not even sure you have the right to say something – after all, Mary’s very good at her job, and is her BO really that big a problem?

There’s one main reason why people avoid saying anything, and that’s usually their fear of the reaction they’ll get. What if she gets upset or angry? Or what if she walks out? She may well do any or all of these - but then again she may not.

    The Critical Resume Question
People have asked me often how to write a resume, or how to write a good resume, or what sets good resumes apart.I always give the same answer.Great resumes, the only kind you ever want to have if you want an effective job search, answer one critical question for any potential employer who looks at it:WHAT'S IN IT FOR THEM?If your resume doesn't answer that question in a few seconds, it's garbage. It's worse than worthless for you, because it can lock you out of that prospect.Nice paper, or an Ivy League education, or fancy titles won't impress as much as answering that single question quickly, and in a compelling way.Ask yourself how people read a resume.Has an obnoxious salesman ever tried to sell you something in a retail store? The tips in this guide are for full-bodied mannequins, not dress forms which are discussed in another guide.Mannequins are called silent salespeople because they make products look more appealing. People always react better when they see clothing as it should be worn. There are 4 basic styles of mannequins - Realistic, Abstract, Headless and Bendable. Realistic Mannequins have clearly defined facial features and wigs styled in life-like hair styles. This is the style of mannequin used in the windows of high-end retail stores such as Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.Realistic mannequins are like Supermodels - a little high maintenance but their striking pres

    Packaging Labels
Packaging labels are used on each and every product - both retail and wholesale. The importance of the right kind of packaging labels for retail products is evident from the fact that it is the packaging label that catches the consumer's eye. The packaging label can actually make or break a sale. Most manufacturers who deal in packaging labels carry a ready stock of various sizes of blank labels, adhesive and any other required paraphernalia. Product manufacturers usually get their product labels designed by specialists in the advertising field. A template is prepared and handed over to a packaging label manufacturer who then does the needful. Some packaging label companies offer innovative labels. By choosing such labels product manufacturers can do away with the cost of getting packaging labels d

Reasons Why You Should Hire A Franchise Lawyer
A contract is binding. When one signs on a contract, it cannot be broken. The terms and agreements apply.A franchise agreement is a binding contract. It defines the obligations and rights between the franchisee and the franchisor. A franchise lawyer comes in between. He reviews the contract as well as the agreement both parties signed on.Franchise lawyers are credible to handle unique franchise agreements. For example, duplication of the concept of a business can provide consistent services. The consistency allows franchisors to establish a brand identified to them. They can also have franchised locations that are associated through networking lead to the total reinforcing of the brand to their image. The franchisor must be protective of its brand. It also has the power to dictate is

To counteract this, there are three good reasons why you should say something. Firstly, your team are waiting for you to do so. Ok, perhaps they should be tackling issues they have with their colleagues themselves. But they obviously don’t feel confident enough to do it themselves, and they’re waiting for you to show leadership. And if you don’t, perhaps it’ll be the other members of your team that get upset or angry, or start looking for another job.

Problems of this nature can cause huge barriers between colleagues. Although they may actually like Mary, they may end up avoiding having to work closely with her, especially in confined spaces. This is bound to have an impact on everyone’s work.

Which brings me onto the second reason for tackling the issue: BO’s bad for business. What effect is this having on your clients or customers? If Mary only deals with them over the phone, there’s no problem. If on the other hand she regularly meets people, she could be losing you work. Where your clients really have no other choice than to use your organisation (as is often the case in much of the public sector), you might think ‘tough’. Well, if that’s your attitude, you’ve far more to worry about than Mary’s personal hygiene.

The final reason for saying something is Mary herself. If you were Mary, wouldn’t you prefer to be told, than have people whispering about you behind your back? Most people really do prefer to be told about something like this, even though it causes some initial embarrassment. And if Mary is already well aware of the problem, you still need to tackle the issue properly. The hints and endless toiletries are likely to be having a negative effect on her, and might eve
