Hurricane Week Started on June First - Ready or Not!
The 2007 Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season starts on June 1 and this should not surprise anyone because hurricane season starts on June 1 every year. Is there any activity on the horizon for the first named hurricane this year? Not yet although we can be sure there will be at least some hurricanes this year. Now then we have had some solar flare activity and thus we should expect a little bit of quickening early in the season.

Mobile Virus Hoax
Its worth asking if perhaps, if its true, that we've grown so frustrated by the trails and tribulations of the summer that we've forgotten how to enjoy the real harvests of the summer.

Why Can We Not Cope When It Snows?
We have had a very mild winter this year I only had to wear my new coat a couple of times over the last week, before that I was still in a jumper or cardigan. Then last week the weather changed, temperatures dropped and we had two days of snow and all hell let loose!

Ocean Wave Energy Generation is Promising; What about a Tsunami or Hurricane Storm Surge?
Several ocean wave electricity generation concepts have been considered over the years and now some of these are coming to reality. In fact both Pelamis Company and Fieldstone Energy Corp have great designs, but can they withstand a direct hit from a Cat Five Hurricane Storm Surge? On the Pelamis design one does indeed have to wonder, although their engineers must have considered this or perhaps they are not planning such infrastructure projects in Hurricane Prone areas?

Is Global Warming Really a Sham?
Think Tanks are busy debating over Global Warming and some folks such as Al Gore are trying to back track now to mend fences and get folks all on the same page offering a slight consolation. Rather than calling it Global Warming, he has decided to call it a Climate Crisis, which is half way between Climate Change and Global Warming I suppose. Very diplomatic indeed, but does Global Warming hold water?

69 MPH Windstorm (and Rain) Leaves a Family in Turmoil
Life a thief in the night, everything went dark and unseen at 11:47 p.m. Thursday (12-14-06). I was in the middle of writing an article when it happened. A house that was well lit and humming within minutes took on the feeling of a damp, pitch black cave as winds up to 69 mph hit Western Washington, leaving one million of us without power. That would have been the same one million people who were looking for an open restaurant Friday morning for breakfast. You can imagine the traffic jam and the aftermath when most restaurants and fast food operations were without power.

Atomic Clocks and Weather
An atomic clock is the most accurate type of timepiece in the world; it measures time according to vibrations within atoms. Some of the atomic clocks display weather conditions like temperature and humidity in addition to showing the accurate time. Atomic clocks with alarm capabilities and temperature and calendar displays are of great utility value while traveling.
